Alternative dining includes the Lido Buffet for all meals (including most evenings), and an Italian restaurant for dinner. Cruise Style: In general, there are three formal evenings on cruises of 12 nights. Other nights are evenly divided between informal and casual. Price Range: The 12-night cruises begin at $4,109 and rise to $6,429 for staterooms. Suites start at $8,540 and run as high as $23,669. Savings of 40% or more are available for early booking. Gratuities are included. The Amsterdam is the newest ship in Holland America’s fleet and is the first flagship not to bear the formerly well recognized Nieuw Amsterdam name.

As on the Classica, decks are named for European cities. One of the ship’s most distinct features can be seen from the outside – a large round dish-like structure sitting not too far back from the bow of the ship.
